let’s just get this out of the way now, i don’t bake. no matter how hard i try, something ends up stuck to the pan, frosted like a kindergartener got a hold of it, or grossly over or undercooked. lately, however, i have had no choice but to bake; lots of important birthdays this week. monday night, cupcakes were on the menu, followed by brownies tonight. my baking excursions led me to discover that, quite often, when the dessert tastes good, it sacrifices appearance. on the inverse, the ugliest things to leave the oven have turned out tasting the absolute best. my cupcakes were relatively pretty(featured below), by my standards at least, but were a bit dry and the frosting was far too sugary. the brownies, though, were delectable, but looked absolutely atrocious(no photo necessary). luckily, though, my efforts were appreciated by both parties who received my less than impressive treats.
